19 year-old, Kianti Champion, was recently trained as an EMT at the Black Fire Brigade and used her new skills to perform CPR to help save a little girl at Rainbow Beach.
Champion says she and her family were at the beach around 9 p.m. Tuesday night when she heard someone screaming for help. After a swimmer found the 5 year-old unresponsive in the water, Champion ran over and started performing CPR until the paramedics arrived.
The little girl was transported to the hospital in grave condition, but Champion and everyone prays that she will be okay.
