Cicely Tyson was nominated for an Oscar 45 years ago for her work in her first major role in the movie Sounder. She did not win that year, but now she's gotten the Oscar many thought she deserved. At the Governor's Awards this past weekend, the almost 94-year old was presented her honorary Oscar, making history as the first black woman to accept the accolade. The award was presented to her by Ava Duvernay, Tyler Perry, and Quincy Jones.
