Although it's only been a day, memorial plans to celebrate the life, music, and legacy of Aretha Franklin are underway. TMZ reports that the celebration is expected to span over four days in Detroit, the city that raised her and ultimately saw her go home to heaven.
According to sources, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History will be the place that has stepped up to host her service as it is big enough to accommodate the multitudes of people expected to show up. Be sure to expect plenty of music, and although no performances have been announced yet, there is sure to be powerful voices present to celebrate the life of The Queen of Soul.
Let's keep remembering her. Here is a part of her interview on 60 Minutes back in 1990.
