A special celebration is being held June 1st in Chicago to celebrate cancer survivors accoridng to a press release from the City of Chicago. The event will be held in Pioneer Court in Chicago in conjunction with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Of the event said Julian Schink, MD, Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at CTCA and practicing gynecologic oncologist at CTCA Chicago. "Cancer Treatment Centers of America physicians have used advancements in molecular genomic testing, targeted therapies and immunotherapies in addition to traditional cancer treatment approaches to support an increasing number of cancer survivors across the nation. Oncology care has turned a corner and we, as medical providers, find ourselves helping more and more patients manage their cancer as a chronic disease. We are proud to stand with them and celebrate their survivorship."
CTCA is very active on their social media bringing awareness of survivors and teaching what can be done.
