Beverly Hills is facing a 500-million-dollar class-action lawsuit that accuses the city and its police department of racial profiling. The lawsuit represents one-thousand-86 Black people who were arrested in Beverly Hills between August 30th, 2019 and August 30th, 2021. That number accounts for 34-percent of all arrests during that time period, but Black people only account for two-percent of the Beverly Hills population.
