President Biden is pushing insurers to improve access to mental health care for Americans. Biden announced a proposed rule today to strengthen requirements so health insurers cover behaviorial health at the same level as physical health. Biden at the White House said "there's no distinction between breaking your arm and having a mental breakdown." The president noted that mental health and substance abuse treatment is out of reach for many Americans.
