CPS Increasing Funding For Majority Of Schools Next Fall

Chicago Public Schools is increasing funding for a majority of its schools next fall. The Sun Times reports more of the school system's nearly ten-billion-dollar budget for the 2023-24 school year will go directly to schools. That includes an additional 220-million-dollars to hire teachers and other support staff. CPS is also issuing its highest-allowed property tax increase of five-percent to help support its spending plan.
