The man who wrote "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and numerous other Motown classics is dead. Barrett Strong died Sunday in Detroit at the age of 81. Marvin Gaye's version spent seven weeks at number one. Strong also wrote many of The Temptations' hits and won a Grammy for "Papa Was a Rolling Stone
