Mayor Lightfoot and several aldermen are proposing a new measure that aims to improve traffic safety. The Smart Streets Pilots Ordinance would establish two pilots downtown that use existing infrastructure and new technology to enforce parking violations, such as cars parked in bike lanes, bus-only lanes, bus stops, and crosswalks. The measure would also enable camera enforcement for parking in commercial loading zones
