Lightfoot Proposes Mayor Raises Tied To Inflation

A new proposal from Mayor Lightfoot would give Chicago mayors annual pay raises that would be tied to inflation. The ordinance would cap the raises at five-percent. The measure would also allow the city clerk and treasurer to take pay increases each year. Lightfoot defended the measure, saying it would put city wide elected posts on the same plane as aldermen.
