First Alopecia Drug to Restore Hair Growth is Approved by the FDA

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system destroys hair follicles. 7 million Americans suffer from this disorder. The Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor has been approved by the FDA to treat severe Alopecia Areata. Some patients experienced hair growth despite possessing almost no scalp or facial hair prior to the study.
