Illinois school children to receive debit cards for monthly food assistance

The State of Illinois has received federal money to offer more relief to children. Students will receive the funds through their school districts.

If your child qualifies for free meals through the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer, or P-EBT, all students will get $450 for the time that schools were remote. The money will be loaded on to the reusable card. Card will be mailed this month in an unmarked envelope, authorities are encouraging to not throw in the garbage for future uploads.
