A Moment in Black History

Marian Anderson opened the doors for so many African American Artist On April 9, 1939 by simply singing at the Lincoln Memorial. She was rejected from singing to an integrated audience at Constitution Hall. She was given the opportunity with the help of President Franklin Roosevelt & First Lady Roosevelt who helped her to sing instead at the Lincoln Memorial with an audience of over 75,000 people and millions who listened to her on the Radio.
