Celebrating International Women's Day "The Caravans"

The Caravans began their amazing journey in 1947 which launched the careers of members Albertina Walker, Delores Washington, Bessie Griffin, Shirley Caesar, Inez Andrews, Rev James Cleveland, Cassietta George, Dorothy Norwood, Inez Andrews, Josephine Howard and more. The group traveled & made many TV appearances on Jubilee Showcase, singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot & Inez Andrews powerful song still today, "Mary Don't You Weep" and the Soprano voice of Delores Washington & the harmony of The Caravans shall never be forgotten. The Caravans paved the way for so many following behind them. The group disbanded in 1978, they continued to travel together on occasions & even recorded an album together. We shall NEVER forget the contributions The Caravans have made to Gospel Music, which is why we Salute The Caravans on International Women's Day.
