The Food and Drug Administration now has new standards that may help detect breast cancer earlier. The FDA will require mammogram providers to inform their patients if they have dense breasts. Having dense breast tissue can increase a woman's chances of getting breast cancer. For women with dense breast tissue, the FDA recommends have an ultrasound after your mammogram.
