Happy 87th Birthday to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg!
She is the 2nd woman to be appointed to the United States Supreme Court and is the oldest active living justice. Ginsburg has an amazing testimony and is a 4-time cancer survivor. She is known for her hard work to eliminate gender-based stereotyping and discrimination. We pray she enjoys her special day!
Amid the fast spread of COVID-19, the Supreme Court is taking several measures in order to keep Ginsburg and all older justices safe during this time. On Friday, March 13th, the 45th President of the United States declared that the United States is in a state of emergency due to the fast spread of the Coronavirus.
The virus is especially dangerous for people 70-years-old and up. With Ginsburg now 87-years-old and more that 2 other justices above 70, the Supreme Court announced last week that it is closing its building to the public effective immediately “until further notice.”
