Chicago teachers & staff on strike; CPS classes canceled Thursday

Teachers and staff in Chicago will go on strike Thursday after the Chicago Teachers Union House of Delegates turned down the latest contract presented to them by Chicago Public Schools.

All classes and after school activities will be canceled. Regular transportation will not be provided for students, but they are welcome to attend any CPS school that serves their grade level and are encouraged to attend their regular school.

No one knows when the strike will end, but negotiations will continue starting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
