Congratulations to Tyler Perry! He is now the first African-American to own and open a major film studio in the nation.

Oprah was accompanied by Stedman. Winfrey says, "He didn't wait for other people to validate or to say you should go this way or that way. He said I'm going to create my own way and as we can see here, become a force for himself."
The $250 million studio is a huge accomplishment for Perry, who 20 years ago was living out of his car. God is good!
