Willie Wilson has officially announced his bid for the U.S. Senate.
The former Chicago mayoral candidate is running as an Independent and will challenge Democratic Senator Dick Durbin.
Wilson says, "As an Independent Democrat I want to go into the belly of the beast, the belly of the beast in Washington, D.C." This is not Wilson's first time running for office. He ran for mayor of the city of Chicago twice and also ran for president in 2016.
