There are 196 new Chicago police officers that will soon be hitting the streets.
Mayor Lightfoot and Superintendent Eddie Johnson attended their graduation ceremony earlier this week. The Superintendent says,"Keeping Chicago safe is not an easy or glamorous career. These individuals have chosen this life of public service, and I am eager to see how they will contribute to making our city a safer place to live, work and play.”
The officers will now begin 3 months of training in the field.
