Mary J. Blige honors The Clark Sisters

During the 25th annual Essence Festival, Mary J. Blige took the time out to honor The Clark Sisters, the authors of "For Colored Girls who have Considered Politics" and Cicely Tyson.

Blige hosted a luncheon called the "Strength of a Woman."

Several celebrities were in attendance including The Clark Sisters' niece and daughter, Kierra Sheard and the other women playing the iconic group in their upcoming biopic.

Karen Clark Sheard, Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark-Terrell, Dorinda Clark-Cole and Jacky Clark Chisholm were all in attendance to accept their "Strength of a Woman" award.
