Chicago's Mayor Lori Lightfoot has announced that the city will now be renting vacant hotel rooms for people who are waiting for Coronavirus test results or people who are experiencing a mild case of the virus.
Officials say they wanted to help people with the virus who are homeless, in domestic shelters, or looking to isolate themselves so they don't get their family sick. No one staying in the hotel room will have to pay a dime. The city will be paying to rent the rooms for about $175 a day, which also helps overcrowded hospitals in Chicago.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot says, "We are all in this together and we are leaving no one behind."
