Financial help for people in Illinois during COVID-19 pandemic

US Dollar bills, veer of money

So many people in Illinois have been hit hard financially by the Coronavirus pandemic, but there may be some relief.

Governor JB Pritzker has announced that all utility companies (electric, natural gas, water and wastewater) must stop all service disconnections and the threat of disconnections. The companies also must stop all late fees until at least May 1st.

The mayor of Chicago announced that all debt collection in the city will be suspended until April 30th. Mayor Lori Lightfoot says that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the city will no longer be booting or towing cars. The city will also only be giving parking tickets for public safety reasons.
