Today, October 23rd, Mayor Lori Lightfoot will announce how she plans to deal with the city’s budget deficit.
Right now, Chicago is $838 million dollars in the red. Reports say tripling the tax on most solo ride-share trips and putting a tax food and drinks are just 2 of the things Mayor Lightfoot may do in order to help close the gap. She also says that a property tax increase is still a possibility.
The mayor’s budget address begins at 10 a.m.
