The alligator that is lurking in the Humboldt Park lagoon is quickly gaining fame while officials are still trying to catch it.
According to Alligator Bob (the volunteer animal catcher), they haven't spotted the alligator since Thursday morning.
The alligator was first spotted on Tuesday. Since it has yet to be caught, the gator has become a sensation and gained a lot of attention. People have actually been going to the lagoon to see it. People have even named the alligator Chance the Snapper.
Officials have reached out to biologists and other experts for help to catch the animal.
Chicago police believe someone raised the alligator as a pet and then let it go. There is currently an investigation into who is responsible for this incident.
