Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza has become the 17th candidate to announce her run for mayor in the City of Chicago. She was re-elected to Illinois comptroller in the midterm elections, but today she has made her candidacy official. A native of Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, spoke about her city roots and how she has worked in the city now. As a mother, she touched on the fear of many parents in Chicago saying, "every parent in Chicago should be able to expect that when they send their child to a neighborhood school, they will get a good education and, most importantly, they'll come home safely."
