Recap: Anti-violence march to Wrigley

Yesterday, in between Lollapalooza, sporting games, and everything else, over 500 protesters gathered at Belmont and Lakeshore drive to protest violence and ask for the resignation of CPD superintendent Eddie Johnson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel.  Protestors followed down LSD to Clark and Addison on the city's northside.  During the protest there were no arrests and according to CPD there were no issues. Wrigleyville saw itself divided and then come together as some fans that were there to see the game between the Padres and the Cubs joined the march for peace and an end to violence.  Countless mothers who lost their children joined as well.

Many shared video and photos of the protest using the hashtag #LakeshoreDriveShutDown.
