The CTA can now see clearly

The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) has installed new high definition cameras on their bus and train platforms.  These new improvements will be rolled out in phases beginning with:

  • New HD cameras along the Blue Line O'Hare Branch at the O'Hare, Jefferson Park, Belmont and Logan Square stations
  • New HD cameras at the Clark/Lake station in the Loop
  • New HD cameras in the Red and Blue line subways
  • New lighting improvements along the Green Line

The project should be completed over the next couple of years and it will upgrade 3,800 cameras that currently exist and add 1,000 cameras to train platforms and bus stops.
