The Biden administration is working to end the monopoly of America's organ transplant system. Currently, the United Network for Organ Sharing is the only group contracted to run the system. The group has recently come under fire for their lack of oversight during organ screenings, which led to 70 deaths last year. Biden's 2024 budget proposal also suggested more than doubling the funding for organ transplantation.
