A bust of the man who wrote the majority opinion in the infamous Dred Scott case will be removed from the Capitol building. President Biden signed a bill Tuesday to remove the bust of former Chief Justice Roger Taney and replace it with a bust of Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court justice. Taney authored the high court's 1857 Dred Scott v. Sandford decision, which ruled people of African descent were not citizens.
