The last living person believed to be born to an enslaved parent in the U.S. has died. Daniel Smith Senior passed away at age 98 earlier this month. His father,was a young child enslaved in Virginia when the 13th amendment was ratified. He was 70 when Daniel was born in 1932. Smith was laid to rest in Washington DC .
