Irregular Sleep Could Raise Hardening Of Arteries Risk In Older Adults

A new study finds that irregular sleep habits might raise the risk of developing problems that can lead to heart attack or stroke in older adults. Researchers say sleeping an inconsistent number of hours each night and falling asleep at different times might increase the risk of developing the condition commonly called hardening of the arteries in people older than 45. The term describes the buildup of fatty deposits, known as plaque, on artery walls.
