Man loses life savings waiting too long to report $23K stolen from account

$23,000 life savings was taken from a mechanic owner with a small business. Edward Swanigan lost his life savings, and he is warning people to keep an eye on bank statements. He's deposited money into his Chase Bank Account for 11 years, someone from all over the world took funds and cleared out his account.

The bank says there is nothing they do because criminals stole his debit card information linked to the account. There were up to 4 transactions made every day. Swanigan said he didn't notice because when he made deposits, the deposit slip didn't list a balance and he doesn't bank online.

Chase says "they regret that Swanigan was the victim of alleged fraud, but Swanigan can't get his money back. They also noted that "one year passed until he notified us of unauthorized transactions."
