CPD Mourns Commander Paul Bauer

Chicago Police Commander Paul Bauer, died after being shot at the Thompson Center yesterday.  It has been released that he was shot by a 44- year old man with a long history of armed robbery and drug related crimes.  

The city as well as the police department mourns the passing of Commander Bauer.  Mayor Rahm Emmanuel asked, " each of us, in the days ahead, as you see Chicago officers doing their job, reach out to them as a member of your family, thank them."


A Chicago Police Department spokesman went on Twitter to announce that charges would be set within the next few days for the suspect.
